Penteo 16 Pro all-in-one 16-channel upmix/downmix

Posted on: Friday 11th of October 2019

This $499 all-in-one upmix and downmix plug-in supports up to 16 channels. This includes 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos up to 9.1.6, Auro 3D up to 13.1, DTSX, and up to 3rd order Ambisonics.

The software now offers both up and downmixing in one new user interface, and enables the user to switch between different channel counts and formats with one UI. Penteo 16 Pro delivers “the highest quality surround sound that is fully immersive with wide and discrete channel separation, while retaining low frequency slam and front channel punch”. Penteo’s key feature has always been to deliver a clean upmix with no unwanted sonic artifacts, because the algorithm avoids introducing any phase shifts as part of the up/downmix process.
